I recently bit the bullet and bought a new digital camera! While it's a point-and-shoot pocket camera, it appears to be a very nice one; nicer than I initially realized, despite the relatively hefty price tag. Sadly, I am still relatively clueless about all the things this camera can do, I'm doing my best to figure it out. I borrowed a book from the library called Digital Photography for Dummies. It seems pretty thorough so far; if it's really good, I might even go so far as to buy it as a reference.

I'm also going to buy Adobe CS4 sometime soon, so I'm looking forward to learning how to use it, though I figure that will take me a while. What a happy thought! :)

Take care, all!

Good to hear from ya again! It's been a while.

Haven't had very much to report, actually. Life goes on, the seasons change, we Texans are finally rid of 105-degree weather, and now it's back to school again. I've had an artistic slump for a while, too... maybe it was the sweltering weather???

But now it's over and I'm looking towards new horizons and expanding old ones! Got a couple new pieces in the wings as soon as I place that online order. Should be good!

Haven't heard from you in a while either! Life treating you okay?

It's been pretty good, even if it is the "same old, same old". The comp that's connected to the scanner and has our photoshop program is down, so even if I'd actually finished any art, I couldn't put it up. Can't color old stuff either, so bleh.
:iconnumber1tolkienfan:
Well, that stinks. Scanner, comp, and photoshop all down at once. Not exactly conducive to an artistic high, huh?

Hope it wasn't your hard drive that crashed! Those are a pain to replace, even if it was possible to get the information back. Which it's not. :(

Still, good to hear that all's mostly fine. ;p

No, what happened is some kinda virus got on our comp and -turned off- our virus protection, and it all went down hill from there. Thankfully, it wasn't so bad that we couldn't make backups of everything, so while we haven't gotten around to doing the clean sweep or whatever he have to do to fix it, we at least have our data in case it goes bad.

However, it is bad enough that we can't really use it for anything. We only turn it on when we need to print something, since the printer's hooked up to it as well. At least that works right.
:iconnumber1tolkienfan:
So not all the news is bad; your data's intact, your printer works, and you know what's wrong with the comp. Now all you need is either the time to fix your old one or the money to get a new one. LOL

Actually, my dad seems to have gotten it to work earlier today - I just hope it sticks!

Yeah, I bet. ;p
